These aren't decorative brooms pretending to be tools.
Dense, flexible broomcorn makes quick work of crumbs, dust, dried leaves, and everyday debris. Sized for the hand, each broom is easy to reach for when you don't need (or want) to pull out a full-size broom.

Why Natural Cordage?
Plastic-free means more than natural bristles.
Many brooms that look completely natural still rely on nylon or synthetic cordage to hold them together. Ours don't.
Every Wild Gem handbroom is bound with natural cordage. No nylon. No hidden plastic.
Natural cordage isn't the easier choice. It takes more time and skill to work with and can break under tension where synthetic cord won't. But to us, a natural-fiber broom should be natural all the way through.

Each broom is shaped and bound by hand, allowing the broomcorn, cordage, stitching, and natural variation of the materials to become part of the design. No two are exactly alike.

Natural + Limited Color
Natural broomcorn is at the heart of the collection. Occasionally, small quantities of dyed broomcorn allow for limited colorways and one-of-a-kind combinations.
Color is intentionally used in small quantities. Dyeing broomcorn ourselves requires additional water and resources, while purchasing specialty dyed broomcorn adds considerably to the material cost. Rather than offering an endless palette, dyed colors come and go in small batches.
Natural is the standard. Color is the exception.

Shake or gently tap out debris after use. If the broomcorn becomes bent, lightly dampen the fibers, reshape them by hand, and allow the broom to dry completely.

Tampico is a natural plant fiber traditionally harvested from agave-family plants in Mexico. The fibers are firm and resilient when wet, making them well suited to scrubbing while still having enough flexibility for everyday use.
Use it for stuck-on food, vegetables, counters, stovetops—or bring that same scrubbing action to dirty fingernails and hardworking hands.

How to Use + Care
Wet the scrubber and use alone or with your preferred soap or cleaner.
Use the Tampico fibers for everyday washing and scrubbing.
For stubborn, stuck-on food, turn it over and use the firm, bound top to concentrate pressure where you need it.
For vegetables, use with water to scrub away dirt and debris.
For working hands and fingernails, wet and use with soap as desired.
Rinse thoroughly after use, shake out excess water, and let dry between uses.
To refresh: If your scrubber develops odor or buildup, soak the fiber portion in white vinegar, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry completely.
Tip: Tampico is a naturally firm fiber. Test first on delicate, coated, or easily scratched surfaces.

Coconut Oil
The cleaning powerhouse. When transformed into soap, coconut oil creates a hard, highly cleansing bar with a generous lather that helps cut through grease and food residue.
Castor Oil
Adds a dense, stable lather that helps the soap spread easily across dishes and surfaces.
Citric Acid
Added during soapmaking to create sodium citrate, which helps bind minerals in water and reduce the soap scum that traditional soap can leave behind.
Lye
An essential part of real soapmaking. Lye reacts with the oils during saponification, transforming them into soap. Once the reaction is complete and the bar is properly cured, the lye has been consumed in the soapmaking process.

How to Use + Care
For everyday washing: Wet your Tampico scrubber, brush, or sponge and work it directly over the top of the Dish Bar to build a lather. Wash as usual, returning to the bar whenever you need more soap.
To fill a sink or pan: Let running water flow over the Dish Bar in its dish as the vessel fills, creating soapy water for soaking or washing.
Beyond the dishes: Load a damp Tampico Scrubber with soap and use it to clean counters, stovetops, sinks, and other washable surfaces.
For stubborn messes: Use the firm, bound top of the Tampico Scrubber to concentrate a little extra pressure on stuck-on food.
After use: Pour out any excess water that collects in the dish and allow the surface of the bar to dry between uses. Keeping it out of standing water will help you get the most life from your Dish Bar.
