THE EXPERIENCE
Cool mint
and camphor.
Warm spice
and earth.
A sensation that
changes as you
experience it.
The balm melts against warm skin, releasing layers of menthol, camphor and aromatic botanicals.
It begins with a light tingle, then builds over the next several minutes as cooling, warmth and spice emerge together and linger on the skin.
PAUSE
Massage a small amount into skin and give the sensation time to develop.
NOTICE
Notice the initial coolness, the warmth beneath it and how the sensation shifts and builds.
CONNECT
Let the changing sensation bring your attention back to your body—and to the plants, places and traditions that inspired the formula.
THE RESULTS
Herbal Paradox doesn't hit all at once. A small amount begins with a cool tingle, then gradually builds into an intense interplay of cooling, warmth and spice that can linger long after application.
The changing sensation gives your attention somewhere else to go—making it especially satisfying when your body feels tired, tense or simply wants some attention.
Starts light.
Then it builds.

For those moments when you instinctively want to rub, press or massage an area that doesn't feel quite right. Herbal Paradox adds an evolving warm-cool sensation to that ritual—giving your hands and your attention something to work with.
Every ingredient earns its place.
WHAT’S INSIDE
MENTHOL + CAMPHOR
The heart of the paradox. Menthol brings an unmistakable cooling sensation while camphor adds its own intensely aromatic, warming-cooling character. Together, they create the shifting contrast that defines Herbal Paradox—cool and warm sensations that emerge, overlap and gradually build after application. The result is an experience that continues to change rather than hitting all at once.
TURMERIC CO₂ EXTRACT
A concentrated whole-botanical extract that brings turmeric into the formula without relying on a large amount of infused plant material.
SESAME + HERBAL INFUSION
Sesame oil is slowly infused with ginger, ajwain and black pepper, creating the balm's rich botanical base and layers of warmth and spice. The extended infusion draws the character of the herbs into the oil itself, creating a complex base that unfolds more gradually than the immediate sensation of menthol and camphor.
CLOVE + BLACK PEPPER
Potent aromatic spices that deepen the warming sensation and provide contrast to the cooling character of menthol.
KENCUR CO₂ EXTRACT
A concentrated extract, Kaempferia galanga (aromatic ginger) adds another distinctive layer of warmth and aromatic intensity.
WHY THE PAN-ASIAN?
The formula crossed borders before it ever had a name.
Herbal Paradox began with the sensory experience we wanted to create: the unmistakable cool of menthol alongside camphor, warming spices and a slow-infused herbal oil.
Those materials didn't belong neatly to one region or one tradition. Rather than force the formula into a geographic boundary, we followed the botanicals across Asia—refining which plants to infuse slowly into oil and which to use as concentrated extracts.
-
The starting point was contrast: cooling menthol and camphor against warming, aromatic botanicals. The geography grew out of the ingredients needed to create that experience.
-
Menthol and camphor create the most immediate sensation, but they aren't the whole formula. Ginger, ajwain, black pepper, kencur, turmeric and clove each add their own character, building layers of warmth, spice and aromatic complexity around that cooling-warming core.
-
Looking across Asia gave us access to very different roots, spices and aromatic plants rather than limiting the formula to the materials of one place. That broader palette allowed each botanical to be chosen for what it contributes to the finished experience.
-
These botanicals appear across different cultures and traditions throughout Asia. Herbal Paradox isn't intended to recreate any one traditional remedy. It's a modern formulation inspired by the materials and sensory practices found across the region.
Herbal Paradox can be more than something you reach for after activity. The gradually building sensation makes it easy to incorporate into massage, stillness, movement or a few minutes of focused attention.
AFTER MOVEMENT
Use it as part of the transition from movement to rest. Massage a small amount into the areas you've been using most and take a few minutes to notice the sensation as it develops.
MARMA + ACUPRESSURE
Apply a tiny amount while exploring marma or acupressure points as part of your own practice. The warm-cool sensation can give you a distinct sensory point to return your attention to as you pause, breathe or apply gentle pressure.
SENSORY MEDITATION
Choose one small area and simply follow the sensation. Notice where it begins, how it changes, where warmth and coolness overlap, and when it starts to fade. Instead of trying to clear your mind, give it something tangible to notice.
MASSAGE RITUAL
Slow the application down. Use the balm with a few minutes of self-massage, allowing touch, aroma and changing temperature to become part of the experience rather than simply rubbing it in and moving on.
END-OF-DAY RESET
Reach for it when you're ready to shift out of the day. The strong aroma and unmistakable sensation create a clear sensory change—something you can associate with stopping, settling in and turning your attention back toward your body.
One balm. Different ways to experience it.
